Why would you want a linkage suspension bike anyway? Aside from the fact that our state-of- the-art Freefloater linkage system provides unparalleled levels of traction and plush, sensitive action throughout the stroke. And the short lightweight links give benchmark mid-frame stiffness and cornering control. All spec’d with the highest quality sealed German cartridge bearings protected with additional sealed covers.

However unlike the industry norm where the designer is limited to links compressing one end of the shock the Freefloater design is a first, compressing the latest ‘09 Rock Shock Monarch 3.3 damper from both ends, ‘floating’ the shock in space between two links and providing Pace with twice the leverage control. The Result? More grip allied with less squat, pedal and brake feedback, plus the sensation of never running out of travel.

Also by centralising the mass of the system and combining this with a low slung BB the faster the trail the more our 405 provides a remarkably stable planted feel.

Of course sophisticated suspension is only one element of a great trail bike which is why the 405 combines this with frame geometry refined for UK trails- no steep nervous angles limiting your control here- the 405 will carry speed, climbing and descending with total confidence.
